 Crookedwood G.A.A. notes

We are holding our A.G.M. on Friday 1st December, at a time to be decided. By giving our members advanced notice, we expect everyone, young and old, players and supporters, to make themselves available for this important meeting as we strive to consolidate our position as a Senior club next year. New members are always welcome to the club.

Scor na Nog

Cookedwood G.A.A. would like to thank all who participated in the Scor in Clonmellon on Saturday night. All our representatives performed well on the night and did themselves proud.

Christmas Party

We are holding our annual Christmas party in Murray’s, The Wood on December 16th. Tickets will be on sale soon from any committee member and their will be plenty of prizes on offer as well as a good night out.

Well done

Crookedwood G.A.A. would like to congratulate Bunbrosna G.A.A. on their win in the Leinster Championship and wish them the best of luck in the next round. Well done also to Raharney on their victory over Mullinavat of Kilkenny and we wish them the best of luck in the Leinster final.

Crookedwood G.A.A. now has a website, courtesy of Susan Murray’s hard work. Susan spent a lot of time and effort in getting the website off the ground and it is much appreciated. We would encourage all members and people in the area to visit the website. There is a guest book on the site and we would like all to sign it and let us know your thoughts about the site with a short comment. Also, if anyone has any old photographs, newspaper clippings or anything about the club or the area that they would like to see on the website they can contact Susan by phone, 044-9372833 or 087-2035730 or by e-mail: There are some sections on the site that are still incomplete but they will be ready in the near future. We would ask all to note the new address for the site which is:

Golf classic

We would like to thank everybody who supported our golf classic recently by taking part and our sponsors for their valuable contributions, which is never taken for granted. Thanks also to Delvin Castle Golf Club for the use of their facilities for the day. The event was a great success and generated much needed funds for the club.

New arrival

Cookedwood H.C. would like to congratulate Noeleen and Ciaran on the birth of their baby girl, Aine.

The club would like to extend their sincere sympathy to the McCarthy families, Mullingar, Crookedwood and Gaulmoylestown, Fagan family, Crookedwood, Moran family, Donore and the Sheridan family, Tyrellspass on their recent bereavement.
